Soundproofing a music room

Post by footharp » Thu Jan 29, 2009 11:48 am

I live in a Semi. I would like to play my HI Fi moderately loudly but do not wish to upset my neighbours. My speakers are close to the party wall but facing away from it. The Party wall is cavity breeze block dry lined with 15mm plaster board., the existing sound insulation is poor. Is there anything I can do to improve things? with the wall? floor? speaker stands etc?
