Split air conditioning and insulation woes

by Boycee » Wed May 27, 2020 12:17 am

Wondered if anyone has seen a split AC installation where each of the pipes (+ cable) have been taken through a separate hole in an external brick wall? Probably no issue with that specifically, however there is no insulation on the pipes (or drain) as they pass through the wall (only insulation each side where they exit).

Wondering what the impact is? I'm guessing reduced efficiency but does this need to be fixed urgently? Is the contact with brickwork likely to be damaging the copper pipes and perhaps cause a leak?
