hi, we have bought a cottage in italy. its over 100 years old. One of the timber beams in the kitchen has split causing the arched roof plaster to crack and start sagging. We can get to the other side of the beam through the stone floor above. The split is about a meter from the stone wall. We currently have an acrowprop in place to support it but trying to figure the best repair method. We are on a pretty much non existent budget! We need it safe for our children. Thankyou
