No. Horrid, horrid stuff. Scrape it first to chop the woody bits off then use a steamer. If you don't scrape it first you'll have an unholy mess to deal with.

There's no EASY way, if it has been on for a while and had lots of coats of emulsion it may be easier. Try using a filler/scraper to lift the edge and peel as much as you can off dry. If left with a backing then scrape off as much of the woddchips and then use a steamer. Just done a room 4m2 and it took me best part of a day.....Good Luck

Easy way no however get yourself a "zinnser paper tiger triple head version" run that puppy all over the wall you want to strip then attack with a steamer (i got steamer from wickes £20 holds 5lt of water lasts about an hour) give it a damn good steaming youll see the steam penetrate through the holes that the paper tiger has made and off it comes !

Does rather depend on what type of paint is on the woodchip.
Woodchip by itself will come off easily with a steamer. Vinyl/oil based paint will prevent the steam from penetrating to behind the paper.
If you have either of these you must score the surface as much as possible to allow the steam to penetrate.
I have seen a tool which looks like a medeival(sp) weapon for the purpose
