Stuck espag UPVC unit without buttons

by gingerjames » Mon Jun 13, 2022 7:08 am

Hi everyone,

Looking for some advice if I may. Got a UPVC espag unit which has given up the ghost, but looking at other windows it the house, it'll just have two pins that shoot in to keepers when the handle is turned, no buttons/Mushrooms to pull back. One of these pins is stuck in, and I'm not sure how I'd get that to retract so I can open the window? Assume the glazing needs to come out, but then I'm not too sure - any help would be much appreciated! James

Hi gingerjames,
If you cannot access the operating rod through the handle holes your only option is to remove the DGU, drill a hole through the rebate opposite the stuck pin and see if you can release it through the hole.
Regards S
