We are going to paint the exterior of our extension but want to pick a colour which will be "neighbour friendly" ie not stick out like a sore thumb, any suggestions? It is immediately adjacent to a standard pale-ish wood perimeter fence (unpainted)?

Personal choice! But you could pick up on one of the neighbours colour.
