Hi
Im going to build a 13ft by 7ft shed on a suspended timber floor in the garden. The garden slopes about 30% in that area so ive organised for 9 screw pile foundations to be inserted (i know, its more espensive than digging it all out myself, but ive got enough to do :-)
So basically one of the long edges of the shed will be almost at ground level, the other long edge will be about 18 inchs off the ground.
Once the piles are inserted, ill need to build the raised (level) platform. Im looking forward to building that part.
I plan to use joists hanging from bearers (is that what you call them?)
The span of the joists will be about 2m, and i assume about 400mm centres.
But im not sure whether i should be using 4x2 or 6x2 joists?
The total weight is estimated to be about (on the safe side) 1000kg (shed and contents)
The screw piles are calculated to be ok for 5000kg (based on 9 of them)
Any help with the joists would be useful thanks
MrE
