tamping along an existing wall

by kevs » Fri Mar 27, 2009 2:56 pm

Hi, some help please from those that know! I have a stable block, 12 metres long. I want to put a concrete slab along it, and out about 3 metres. I can install formwork along three edges, but how do I tamp the cocrete along the edge of the stables without formwork? Should I put in formwork along the edge of the stable wall, and remove when the concrete has dried, then make good with new cement? I want to make a good job so help would be appreciated!
Thanks Kev

hi

Fix a timber batton to the wall 2" above the finished flool level, notch out your
tamper 2" and hand float under the batton as you work along then tamp or float over depending on your finish.

Bye
