tile onto of vinyl

I have a kitchen floor that has got vinyl, tried to pull it up but it has been stuck down with glue and is impossible to lift. Can i tile on top of vinyl? Help much appreciated.

Vinyl on vinyl; yes. Ceramic on vinyl no.

Hire a floor scraper and use plenty of elbow grease. It will come up.
