tiling behind shower

by sparky5. » Tue Apr 02, 2013 8:48 pm

Hi
I am installing a new bath with a shower above and I know I have to install a vapour barrier and cement board on one wall due to it being studded before tiling, this being the tap end, however the other wall is brick / plastered, can I just tile on top or will I have to do some sort of water proofing. Hope this makes sense to everyone.
Cheers sparky

Ps I am removing all the internal lath and plaster off the internal walls
