Tiling edges Advice and information on tiling and fixing tiles to a variety of surfaces

I'm tiling aroud the base of a shower. I have to cut the tile around the base. The tiles are stone and have a sharp edge when cut. The question! Can I leave this cut edge facing up or is there some kind of building reg that says I have 'arris or bullnose this edge?

Get a tile file (or a coarse oil stone) and knock off all sharp edges.

Exposed edges when tiling always look terrible, either with whole tiles or usually worse with cut tiles

Why dont you do a nice job and remove the problem of sharp edges by using a tiletrim to complement your tile style / colour

These tiletrims are easily cut to size, come in a huge range and are simply beded into the tile adhesive, under the tile at the cut edge
Stocked at all the DIY stores and tile shops
A much nicer finish and no cut toes !
