I am currently renovating an old cottage which has cob walls. I have been told that the walls should be lime plastered to let the walls breath (otherwise the cob has a tendency to crumble). I am working on a utility room and would like to tile the walls in the areas of a washing machine and sink. Would this be detrimental to the cob and if so any suggestions?
