i have had my walls skimmed, and i am going to put tiles on the wall.
do i need to prep the walls first before putting my tiles on??
if so is paint that is made for fresh plaster good enough??

You will need to seal your walls before you tile them. This can be done by using watered down PVA which can be obtained for most diy stores, about one part PVA to three parts water. or alternatively you could use acrylic (and water down as per instructions on bottle) which you should be able get at your local tile shop. Which ever you decide to go for you will only need one coat, this is to stop the wall sucking all the moisture out of the tile adhesive before it has a chance to go off.
