I bought a sofa that won’t fit through my bending hallway to get into my living room so it will need to go through the window.
The sofa will fit through one window panel but it will not go in based on the space that the top swing currently opens to.
Is there a way to open top swing wider than what is currently being done to allow for a bigger space? Or do I need to remove the window pane temporarily and put it back?

Probably easiest to undo the hinges and remove the whole casement. You will need some strong glass suckers to hold the casement for removal and refitting.

Thanks for this! Two glazers I got in said the same thing, they said glass removal first and then the remover due to weight of the casement
