carwyn,
Leave the decking for about a month for it to dry out and then apply an oil based decking preservative (it will say clean brushes in white spirit or brush cleaner in the instructions).

Carwyn,

Depending on what decking you have for example if it has a wax treament in it you want to leave it weather for a year then clean it off next year and use an oil on it rather than a stain because it looks terrible with a stain. dont treat a wax treated deckign til next year cause it will just run off the decking.
