TRV's

by leakylady » Wed Oct 19, 2011 2:49 pm

Have a problem with radiators - too hot upstairs if warm enough downstairs. I have therefore bought Danfoss trvs for upstairs rads. I have 10mm microbore, and the valves have an option of 15/10/8mm pipework ( little brass adaptor for each size or an olive). I have a problem with understanding how this is not going to leak as there little room to attach a 10mm olive ( I bought these thinking I could need them they were not with the kit) and the adaptor into the valve. The nut for the TRV doesn't look like a compression nut so how does this work? Any help appreciated.

I managed to put on TRV's and also replaced two radiators. TRV's not leaked (although I put PTFE tape on the end of the mircobore to ensure a tight fit). Am very happy as I can now control upstairs heat - also bit of a bonus - drained system and put in sludge remover and noise reduction liquid. All radiators are now very hot and so should reduce bills in the winter - Result!!
