Hi
This is probably the worlds smallest job so hope it's not too noddy for the forum!
I'm replacing my internal door tubular latches and backet, i've bought a couple of different brands and for both the latch and backset are just a tiny bit bigger than the existing space for them so wondering what the best method is for taking off a tiny bit of wood in the existing spaces - we're talking 1-2mm? I've had a go with a small sander attachment on my multitool but because its a very shallow space it's jumped up a couple of times and given me an uneven finish. It seems too small a job for a chisel so wondering if getting some really small files would help but the small ones i've seen are generally round or triangular so was thinking a flat head would be better for these rectangular spaces? Or should i just try a quite course sandpaper and try and do it really evenly?
...or if there's some other perfect tool out there i'm unaware of please let me know!
Any help welcomed!
