I have recently had some electrical ring circuits extended and new sockets installed resulting in significant areas of existing plaster needing patch repairs.

Can anyone suggest the best plaster to use for the job. I have been told that thisle is a good brand so was thinking of thistle hardwall + multi finish. Alternatively, are they any good one coat options on the market?

The background material is block in some places, brick in others.

Thistle is the main one dont know any other plasterer that uses anything different unless you are just using a filler like fast set. made by gyproc.

if i were you i'd use thistle bonding plaster to fill the holes then just a normal polyfilla (powder form - not ready mixed) to skim and finish. at least then you can sand it back to a decent finish.

most electricians use one-coat plaster if they make good their own butchery, personally i am not a fan. it's not easy to work with or to get a good finish.

Thistle one coat is a great solid undercoat plaster which doesnt crack, I wouldnt recommend using it as a finish plaster because it can be awkward to trowel up, I always use it for patching up but I always skim over it to finish the job.
