Ugly soil pipe installation

by richjturner » Thu Mar 09, 2023 8:54 am

Hi,

Our builders have done a pretty lame job of installing the soil pipe behind the loo and it's a bit of an eyesore. Can anyone suggest a way to improve it, ideally without too much cost of upheaval? I was thinking of just painting it white and trimming the rubber seal to the edge.

Thanks in advance,

Rich

Hi richjturner,
What you have is pretty standard for a loo with high level cistern. It would be unwise to cut away the rubber seal because it may not leave much in the pipe in the floor. Paint the rubber with an oil based primer then whatever paint you want to finish with.
