UPVC door frame sills

by pesterr » Sat Feb 12, 2011 7:00 pm

We have just had a new upvc front door and frame fitted and I noticed that the face of the door frame sill is flush with the stone/cement face directly below it, can anyone tell me if this is correct as all the door frame sills I've looked at are over hanging by a couple of inches as are window frame sills. I thought they should over hang for the water to drain off and not soak into the brick work below. Hope someone can give me some advise.

Did you have a doorcill before?,It could be face drained which means the water is able to drain through the bottom and come out of 2 plastic caps at the bottom of the frame
They might have done this to reduce the height you have to step over.
Or it could also mean they have messed up the height and forgot to add the cill
