Upvc French Doors Missing Something as There is a Large Gap in the Middle

by Crasp » Sat Aug 19, 2017 4:02 pm

Hi,

I recently moved into a property and found the bottom of our french doors, where the doors meet in the middle, had a gap which measures 13cm (w) x 1.5 (d) on the inside.

As you can imagine a draft comes though this gap which needs to be eliminated. When i open the french doors there are two metal locating blocks at the base of the doors. They locate the locking pins at the bottom of each door to locate.

if you look at pic1 (bottom inside of gap) the remaining sides of both doors have a strip of plastic which sits up against the seal perfectly.

What am i missing? I have seen mullion end caps but surley when i come to open the doors this would possible catch on the two metal blocks at the base of the doors?

Help much appreciated.
John
