I am building a log-cabin (pre-fab) and have chosen to build it on a foundation consisting of laminated C24 pressure treated joists supported by concrete blocks, The concrete blocks are sitting on solid rock on beds of concrete and some are not quite level.
In order to make it level, I am thinking of applying a cementitious non-shrink grout to the tops of the offending blocks, applying a damp-proof membrane before placing the frame on top. Is there anything wrong with doing this? The gaps are between a few mm up to 10mm.
The alternative would be to use some kind of shims, but I can't find anything adequate.
