Velux Balcony Windows in a Conservation Area

by highsider » Mon Mar 25, 2024 10:33 pm

Hello.

This is an interesting one.

Roof windows in conservation areas seem to need a central glazing bar. This seems to be either added to a single glazed panel (to put it crudely - it is stuck/fixed on), or it is part of the window structure so two grazed panels to one window.

We are in a conservation area, and wondered has anyone managed to get a Velux balcony installed in a conservation area with or without a third party central gazing bar?

I have seen central glazing bars being made available to attach to existing Velux windows. So this makes me think it could be possible in certain circumstances?
