We are due to get our patio finished tomorrow however the edge of the raised patio overhangs the brick underneath by about 3 inches in places. It means that some of the slabs are not joined with sealant and therefore sitting with gaps in the joins.
When asked about the overhang we were advised this is to allow drainage so it doesn't soak on the bricks underneath.
My question is this normal procedure for a raised patio or should it be flush with the lower brick, we are worried slabs may break with this overhang.
Any answers appreciated as guys back on site for last day tomorrow.
