Ignition Failure on Gas Hob

by rimo911s » Thu Jan 15, 2009 5:24 pm

Hi, the auto ignition system on my gas hob has failed. It still makes the clicking noise as if it is trying to work but there is no spark produced.
Any thoughts as to how to fix this would be much appreciated. Thanks.

If 'clicking' then it usually means the transformer is working and the clicking is the spark jumping to earth in the wrong place. follow path of ignitor wire from normal spark gap connection back towards transformer, in dim light you should see where spark is tracking down, prob at entry point to hob, or wire fallen off at spark gap connection
