Hi.
I am replacing my old cooker with a gas hob and electric oven.
The old cooker was wired to a terminal box, which is wired using 6mm T&E to a cooker switch, which is wired using 6mm T&E to a 45amp MCB on the consumer unit.
My new hob comes with a 13amp plug attached (presumably for the electric ignition?) as does the electric oven.
Can I just cut the plug off both the appliances and wire it directly in to the terminal box downstream of the cooker switch or would this be bad as the appliances need protecting with 13amp fuses?
If I can't do that, can I just replace the terminal box downstream of the cooker switch with a standard 2 gang wall socket and just plug both devices in?
Thank you for all your help/thoughts!
Regards,
Damian
