Wall aside staircase

Post by TomoV » Thu Jul 04, 2024 6:17 am

Hi all

I have installed a new oak bespoke staircase to my dormer bungalow conversion. Made a a bit of an oversight as should have left sufficient gap between edge of stringer in order to get your hand down the handrail. I need to built a stud wall up to the edge of the staircase. Wondered if anyone might have any suggested ideas of how to get round this issue

Hi tomov,
Either use handrail brackets to hold the handrail off the wall or fit a pigs ear handrail.
