WAshing machine/dishwasher wastes

by gjran23489 » Fri Jun 13, 2025 8:10 pm

Hi,

I have a washing machine and dishwasher in my new kitchen coming next week.

Due to our kitchen layout, the appliances are not near a sink and, due to the old cast iron stack, I can run a new waste pipe but it will have to be quite high off the floor and so there is not enough height below the worktop to fit a stand pipe.

Does anyone know an alternative way to plumb in the two appliances? I can give pictures or a diagram if it makes it clearer.

Hi giran23489.
If you can get to the cast iron pipe cut a hole in it and fit
a saddle collar.
If not use a self-sealing trap so you do not need the standpipe something like the m alpine Mac valve..
Use separate connections for each appliance or you may end up with a flood if both machines run at the same time.
Regards SB
