Waste water for washing machine and dishwasher Drainage and wastage systems and plumbing help, advice and answers

Hi guys,
So I'm trying to connect my dishwasher and washing machine to the waste pipe. There is only one waste fitting on the current pipe.
I went to screfixand bought the mcalpine 40mm twin hose connector, however the connection on the connector is the same as the waste pipe. I'm a plumbing amateur but I thought this was going to be a breeze.
Both fittings are screw
What should I do?

Hi jackjack492,
For connecting two appliances you will have to replace the existing trap with a McAlpine double appliance trap.
