water leaking from kitchen ceiling when shower runs

when my shower runs too long like 2 or 3 showers in a row water drips into my kitchen ceiling i recualked it was ok for a while i checked shower head pipe it was dry can it be the trap or waste what do i check now. thankyou luanne

It could be the trap or waste or pipework. Also could be the caulking has failed, the grout between the tiles is defective or water is geting in around the shower valve. you will have to work through each and do the easist first.

when u say u recaulked, did u actually use caulk? should be silicone.

As you mention that you notice the water when there are 2-3 showers there's a strong possibilty that you either have a leak in the waste pipework or directly from the trap. Unless there is real evidence that the grout in the shower area is defective (ie cracked & missing) it's unlikely. It may well be that you are not noticing it so much after one quick shower as its either soaking into the plasterboard or any insulation fitted. As Chris on tour mentioned silicone is the one to use as opposed to caulk.
