Wet bay window on inside after fitting new glass panel

by beezneez55 » Wed Dec 07, 2022 8:14 am

Please advise i fitted a new glass panel in a bay window and now in the mornings if its cold outside it is wet through with condensation. Nothing else has changed and all was fine before this new panel went in. The only thing i can put it down to is the new panel is of low quality.
Today is the worst its been it is minus 1 outside. Thank you.
I have picture but cannot load it for some reason

Hi beezneez55,
If it is a double glazed panel then the unit is faulty.

Hi beezneez55,
Generally the overall thickness of a double glazing unit is fixed by the recess depth in the frame. So if you have a depth of 14mm this will be made up with 4mm glass 6mm air gap and 4mm glass.
You can specify solar glass and argon filled but you would need to look at potential savings over the increase in purchase cost.
When you refer to wet through with condensation if this is between the two glass sheets you have a faulty unit.
Regards S
