Wet Floor Under Bathroom Shower Tray and Mould - Solutions Needed for Repair

by lucadobe » Sun Oct 04, 2015 6:00 pm

We had damp spots coming through internal wall in hall which is connected to wall in bathroom ..5 months ago we rubbed it down and applied easy fill to the area ...then left for 8 weeks ..it was then painted with waterproofed paint then painted with original colour paint ...then we noticed after about 5 weeks brown marks and bubbling appearing down the sides where the two door frames run it looks like moisture can't get out as before so is pushing out from the edges...now we noticed mould creeping from under shower tray which is about 150 high...so we removed shower tray rim and there is thick mould and the floor is wet and underneath side of the tray is wet also so are the water pipes at the back we can see droplets on them but on inspection and running shower there is no evidence of leaks....the shower tray is sealed with no gaps ...this is real problem...plumber coming tomorrow...did think about condensation under shower tray but that wouldn't cause water to come through brickwork on the internal wall..any ideas?

Why not post pictures?

What about any tiles on the shower walls or plumbing in the walls?

Caulking between the shower tray and the tile often allows leaks especially when someone is stood in the shower base or tray.
