Has anyone had any experience with having a wet room as part of an acoustic floating floor?
I have 400 c to c joists of 75mm widths with a 5mm resilient strip of rubber from JCW on them, then with JCW's 22mm cement particle board over. All of which is wet UFH using biscuit method.
I have some partition walls forming two sides of a shower in this floor area.
I was wanting to have a wet room style floor but was wondering how best to incorporate into the floating floor.
I was thinking that I should fix the shower part down and then let the rest of the floor float relative to it. The partition walls would then be fixed to the joists (rather than the floating floor) by having the fixings pass through the floating floor and onto the joists. This should result in the wall - shower floor interface remaining unmoving. I would just need to have some sort of flexible feature where the transition is from shower floor to floating floor.
Any thoughts or advise on my approach?
