Hi, I plan to extend my ring main. I have some of the old black and red cable left over from a previous project. Can I use this cable or do I have to use the new colours?
you can't legally use old colours now the period for using up old cable ran out over a year ago, even if you sleeve all cores at all outlets with new colours you need to label every point where old/new colours appear together.

why would you want to use the old wire
anyway!
besides its not really legal and could have developed hairline cracks in the copper
