HI,
in a room in my new home is a row of lights,
and these are powered by some cable coming from a switch fuse spur,

there is only 4 lights and each has a 40watt bulb,but the fuse keeps blowing in the spur,

is there a way of working out which fuse is ok,iwas told i need the correct amp size, the cable coming out to the lights is 1.5mm

I hope you have missed something as 4 x 40 watt is only 0.7 amp and should not blow the smallest of fuse i.e. 1 amp. Either you have something faulty or you have missing something. If for example the are extra low voltage lamps then the inrush to the transformer could require a slightly bigger fuse. 2 amp are hard to find so 3 amp if with transformer and absolute limit is normally 5 amp as this is limit for most lamp fittings. I would wonder if in the past someone has fitted wrong size bulbs and damaged wiring. I think further investigation is called for.

thanks for the reply
i have just had a look in the spur unit to see if i missed anything and it does look like it has had a bit of burning or melting,
i have desided iam going to get someone in to change it over
