Good evening,
I'm new here and I know very little about concrete, so please be patent with me if I don't use terms correctly (put please do correct me).
I have a new concrete patio. it had color added (mixed in) and has a broom finish.
Now I want to put things on it, but I don't want any thing to leave stains.
What can I put on a concrete patio that will not stain it?
So far I have a couple of PVC chairs. I think those are safe?
I want to put pots of plants on the patio, and rather than just put them in little plastic trays, I would like to elevate some of them on boards (the row in the back is on a board).
The boards are very old redwood fence boards which I would put up on PVC elbows (on their sides) to lift the board off the patio just a bit.
I've been told that redwood would leave marks from the natural color in them (?), but these boards are at least 10 years old so I'm hoping that a decade of rain and sun will have solved that problem for me, if they would still drip stain onto the patio and stain it please tell me.
I could get Pot Risers to support the boards, but they are made of black rubber. Wouldn't those leave marks?
I also want to put some of the boards up higher. I thought maybe I could put them up on concrete blocks, but I'm afraid that the blocks will leave marks, perhaps as dirt collects around them.
Would ABS leave marks? I thought of cutting slices of spare 3" PVC and ABS pipe to make rings to go under the concrete blocks (or whatever else I think of using), but I don't have a chop saw to make cuts that would be flat on the patio and I don't know of another way to make cuts that good.
Or could I use a Trex Board (sage). Could I cut 2" pieces to put under the concrete blocks?
I see there are now PCV trim boards that are very thin. Would those work to protect the patio?
It's a brand new patio, so I'm very concerned about not ruining it. Am I over-reacting?
This is a temporary situation (maybe a year), so I'm trying find a temporary situation until I can completely redo and landscape my entire front yard and get those plants into the ground.
Thank you for all responses and suggestions. They are greatly appreciated.
