Whats your best / most useful tool?

by reggae88 » Sat Feb 13, 2010 10:09 am

Hi, as a professional handyman, its hard to pick a favourite as there's a differant kit for each trade. So i'd have to say my top two tools that are in my pocket all the time are ;

- My trusty 6" metal rule (this literally has over 100 uses, from measuring to scraping from turning on/off isolators to mixing paint)

- My trusty folding Stanley knife (use this daily too, by 'Rolson' from TK max, it clips on my trousers and has a real wood handle)

What can't you do without?

i begrudgingly bought a bosch multi tool a couple of years ago to remove floor grout that had gone a bit funny.

couldn't think what else i'd ever do with it so i was going to ebay it once i'd finished the job to try and recoup some of the money.

since then i've found a million uses for it and it comes on every job with me. it can do things that no other machine can do and does it quick and neat. really gets you out of trouble at times, i don't know how i managed for so long without one!

so glad i didn't sell it in the end - it's paid for itself many times over and is now as integral a part of my tool kit as my hammer and drill.

the only negative is that the attachments are a bit pricey.

telescopic magnetic pick up.

It's not always used, but when it's needed, you'd swap your entire tool kit for one.

1. DeWalt DXCMPA1982054 air compressor power tools.
2. Dewalt DCK240C2 drill/driver

The above mentioned is the best compressor and drill driver tools nowadays.
