Where is my central heating pump?! Need to find to replace.

by simwilko » Mon Oct 29, 2007 12:09 pm

Although my hot water works fine my radiators no longer get warm. the downstairs ones began cooling first, then upstairs and now they are all cold. I am led to believe that it is probably down to the pump not working and therefore not sending hot water round the system. However, my problem is that I cannot find the pump!
The sytem is a back boiler from a gas fire. I cannot find a pump in the loft and I have no airing cupboard or similar in which it could be hidden. My assumption is therefore that it must be under the floorboards. Is there a standard place or way to work out where it is before I start to rip them all up searching for it. Any help or advice would be most appreciated! Thanks

If your pipework is boxed in at the side of the chimney breast it could be there, if not it could be under the floorboards above the lounge/d,room

It could be under the floor boards at the side of the chimney breat upstairs or in the side of the chimney breast next to the back boiler or again upstairs.
