I am looking at purchasing a flat which is on the 1st floor. on the exterior wall is a white, dusty stain which looks as though it is coming from the flat above. I have spoken to the seller about this and she assures me its from an overflow pipe and is just the residue/stain left. Is this something I should be worried about?

It sounds like effloresence a salt deposit from the brick,if it is ,its not really a problem it takes ages to clear though
