Will the same cistern fit?

by Scotty1308 » Mon Aug 02, 2010 11:28 am

Had a bit of a toilet emergency over the weekend- cracked cistern! The guarantee covers us but will take 10 days. Cant pour water down the loo for that long because in typical bad timing style- we are getting married at the weekend and he bridal party is getting ready here, so need a working toilet!

The original toilet is a 'Peru Close Coupled Toilet - White' from Homebase, I have spotted a Cistern in Wickes which is a Close Coupled Cistern and has the same measurements. Will this work or does it have to be the exact same cistern?

If you are thinking of a temporary fix, then you might get away with it coupling to the toilet.

However, the cold water inlet may be in a different position in the cistern so probably won't line up with the existing pipework. Also, some toilet pans restrict where the feed can be. Check this carefully before purchase.
