We have just bought a bungalow for elderly parents and find that the new (2008) DG UPVC bedroom window does not have an opening restriction. It's essential that the window can be opened for air at night, also essential that no one can climb in!
Our "windows man" says he isn't allowed to fit a restrictor because the window is a "fire escape" design and he can't do anything to interfere with that, so all he can recommend is a new window. We think we can do what we want, though, as we are not in trade. But, we have no idea what to do! The restriction needs to be movable as we also need to have the window fully open in warm weather. Ideas gratefully received.
