wiring a double switch

by BUDGIEAGAIN » Tue Oct 21, 2008 2:07 pm

Hi,
Can somebody tell me in very plain English for my simple head how I wire a double switch.
Its for outside lights. Previously there was a single switch with a single light. Now I have bought a double switch and want to put 1 light on eachh switch. Should be simple Im sure, but not for me.
I currently have 2 wires comng out of the wall. 1 is obviously the live feed and the other I assume goes to the existing light. Its too late, Ive already disconnected all wires so I now dont know where anything goes. HELP?
Thanks.

Its on the outside aswell, right next to the switch on the wall.

The two wires go to com and L1 on one switch.
The second lamp needs it's own independent feed normally taken from the ceiling rose there is normally no neutral at the switch so second lamp has nothing to do with first other than using same location.
