Wiring advice for Heatmiser PRT-WTS

by gcc » Sat Dec 07, 2013 10:38 pm

Hello all,
I'm about to replace a non thermostat timer unit for a Heatmiser PRT-WTS, but I wanted to make sure on the wiring connections before doing so.

The link above is an image of the current timer wire diagram.

This link above is for a photo of the current thermostat wiring.

And the final link is the wiring diag for the PRT-WTS.

My thoughts are: Using the existing wires, L & N are obvious, and keep the live loop between L & COM. The only wire which gives me concern is the Brown wire currently in terminal 3; should this be the S/L connection going to NO1 on the PRT?

Also, because this is thermostatically controlled, are there additional connections needed to allow for thermostat switching on/off? If so, I'll need to get a sparky in for that. Hoping its just a straight swap out though.

Appreciate any help offered.

Hi
looking at your diagrams, you should be fine with a straight swap, brown to NO1 with link to Common.
