wiring an extractor fon from a two way pullswitch

by D.Mac » Sun May 06, 2007 9:14 am

How do I connect an extractor fan from a two way pullcord inside a bathroom. There are two lights in the room. One is above the shower, the other above the bath. The ceiling has been lowered and is to be plastered in a few days. The fan has a timer on it and I would like it to come on when the lights are on only. Have run a 3 core T/E from pullcord near door to light then to fan. Is this correct and if so, what are the connections to make it work?

OOPS!
Not sure of your terminology, why would you have a two way pull sw.
If you only want fan on with light why buy timer fan designed to run-on after light goes off?
does the supply go to the pull switch first? ,if so, you only need to loop to light & then to fan with L,N, &E.
You do of course know that you are breaking the law by doing wiring in a bathroom yourself!
see project Part P rules, also you should feed fan via local isolator out side bathroom! regards, SPARX
