Wiring problem HELP!!!

by zzzjigsawzzz » Fri Jul 23, 2010 7:55 am

Hi, i recently changed a strip light in kitchen for a four bulb spot light, now whenever the light in the kitchen is on a light in another room wont work and vice versa. They both work properly, ie they switch on and off when being used individually but you cant have both of them on at the same time. What have I done wrong, can you help?

I would guess swapped neutral and switch wire. Often both black so easy done.
Likely switch works wrong way around too. With tungsten bulbs it would cause them to be dim but all sorts of odd things happen with discharge lamps.

Thanks ever so much eric and sparx. Cross fingers I can uncross wires, thanks again from a damsel in distress.
