Hi All,
I'm in the process of installing a new kitchen DIY style.... I have removed the old oven and am about to fit the new one.
My question is this: can I legally wire up the new oven to the same terminal outlet that the original cooker was connected to?
The connection itself is simple - just three wires. My concern is whether I would be in breach of any regulations by doing it myself?
Secondly, if I can do it myself, does the cable have to be fixed to the wall etc or can it just run along the floor under the base units?
Any advice would be appreciated.

If the circuit is existing, then there is noting illegal be replacing/reconnecting a cooker to it.
Of course there are things to consider.
*Is the cable sizing suitable for the demand
*Is the circuit fuse/breaker rated correctly for the cable and demand
*Is the circuit safe for continued service

The cable can be run along the floor, providing it supported so that the cable or any terminals are not under any stress.
Any terminals should be enclosed though and have cable restraints.
