Worcester 24bsi bolier

by led zep » Thu Dec 09, 2010 6:47 pm

I have the above bolier (not a combi) sited in my garage working fine until now.It is about 7 years old.I have my heating in timed i.e. from 0630-0730 (no issues)
Also from 1630 hrs -2200hrs for whatever reason the central heating radiators cool down at about 2030 hours for no reason and the house goes very cold. The heating will then come back on.Why does it not keep a constant temaprature. The pressure bar is showing 2.5.Any ideas.

I have checked my bolier and the pressure guage is up to 3.5 is it possible that my bolier is reaching this stage and then cutting out thus knocking my heating off until the pressure drops back and kicks in again any views on this theory welcome. If this is the case what is wrong with my boiler ?

Your boiler should operate between 1-2Bar from cold to hot. When it reaches 3Bar there is a problem. Firstly check the cold fill valve is properly closed and not allowing the mains pressure to pass into the system. Disconnect the cold fill flexible pipe to confrim this. If the pressure still rises during operation the the pressure vessel requires attention.
