Zoo Lock model

by dave_28 » Mon Jun 22, 2026 1:46 pm

Can anyone help identify this older Zoo mortice latch and suggest a direct replacement?

I have two identical Zoo latches fitted to internal bedroom doors. Both have failed (one latch is stuck retracted, the other will not retract).

The latch is marked:

ZOO
REVERSIBLE BOLT
CE 1121

Measurements are:

Faceplate length: approximately 150mm (6")
Faceplate width: approximately 25mm
Backset (faceplate edge to spindle centre): approximately 57mm (2¼")
Lock body depth: approximately 76mm (3")
Door thickness: approximately 35mm

The issue I am having is that modern Zoo tubular latches appear to have much shorter faceplates than my existing latch. The door has already been morticed to accept the full 150mm faceplate, so I am trying to find either:

The exact current replacement from Zoo, or
A like-for-like replacement from another manufacturer.

Has anyone come across this particular Zoo model before, or know the current equivalent part number?

Photos attached.

Many thanks,
Dave

It's a ZULC76SS Upright Latch 3" Satin Stainless in case anyone else even has this issue.

Thanks,
Dave

Its a mortice lock, you can still get the Zoo brand on Amazon, but as your ones have failed I would not get another zoo brand lock. Look on the likes of screwfix, measure your lock and compare.
