Hi, can anyone help with a problem I have with toilet cistern? The water level rises when not in use and ends up causing a drip in the overflow pipe outside. I have tried adjusting the float arm and this seems to work as after the toilet is flushed the float arm is lying low and limiting the amount of water into the cistern. However when I check later in the day, the water level has risen again to the top of the overflow pipe inside the cistern. Is there anything else I can do to stop this happening? Thanks.

it appears the problem lies in the body of the valve
the rear of the float arm pushes against a small pin/piston which pushes on to a diaphram / rubber seal i would say this as perished and is allowing water to seep in to the cistern i feel you need to replace the the inlet arm ,you can replace the diaphram , but if its old you may as replace the inlet valve and float and bring it upto date
