Removed Radiator now no hot water !

by dtharby » Tue Aug 12, 2008 7:30 pm

Hi All,

Removed a radiator to continue decorating and now I have no hot water (?)

Checked the boiler and re-pressurized to 1 bar, reset the boiler and the pilot light flicked on then went off.

I think that my CH is a sealed system, but would that stop the hot water working ?

Any thoughts/ideas would be great.

Thanks
Dan

Boiler is an Ideal FF250

Did you say the pilot wont re light and keep going out? Does your boiler have a thermocouple?

If your boiler has a thermocouple, it may just be past it and need replacing.

Hi,

Worked it out in the end... appears that i needed to refill the system (?) and then voila !!! it all kicked into life.

Basically turned off bolier, repressured to 2 bar and then checked all radiators..... then went back, hit the thermal reset, turned power back on and it kicked into life :)

That's good news, to be honest it's the first thing a decent engineer would check first so well done.

AH.
